Two things.
I don't remember Sungold making a big secret of the fact that earlier proposal had been rejected.
I'm stunned by the fact that you still don't know that...... a year later.
It's not unusual for a project of this magnitude to go back and forth between councillor's committee and the drawing table many times. It's very difficult to please everybody especially at City Hall.
Once upon a time a very bright young businessman in my home town came to the conclusion that what our city lacks is a Baseball Ball Park. Even though he had enough financial support for the project and a backing from business and community leaders it seemed that he couldn't get through one obstacle City Hall. If my memory serves me right it took him five years and one election to get the project approved. Why there was so much opposition within the ranks of council no one knows but everyone agrees that historically it's been proven that the only good Hall is the Pool Hall. On average these people seldom have any vision for the future, likewise in Vancouver it took Jim Pattison to show those guys how business is done properly.
In your reference to GLB situation you've ask this question;
<<<They dumped Sungold, my question still is WHY?? What do they know that we don't know?>>>
I'm not in a position to answer it with any degree of certainty.
We could look at it from another angle though and ask similar question with reference to the famous legal case: MacDonald's versus Clumsy Hot Coffee Spiller. Common sense would dictate to any "normal" individual that this particular case and individual is bound to fail.
What doesn't make sense to us makes sense to someone else. Some people will use any warped rationale to prove their point and will not stop short of using any tactics, disgusting or not.
Going back to your question "Why GLB dumped Sungold ?" I wish I was in a position to answer that question but I can only contradict it with another question :
Why did Sungold spend millions of dollars assisting GLB on their long journey through Federal Recognition Process knowing full well that the contract with GLB doesn't have "legs" and will be open to misinterpretation? The concept of "something for nothing" doesn't cut it in this case but unfortunately TIME holds the key to "Door Number Five" behind which the answer is hidden I share your view on that ace up Sungold's sleeve.
Time holds the key, we hold shares, Sungold holds an ace up their sleeve ................................

We have a choice if such is our desire.
I don't see an easy way out.
G' day.
