Hi Joanie, Thank you for the welcome. The good nature and kind words on this thread are what attracted me to it in the first place. Blue wants me to open up and tell about myself. I have a couple of problems with that, but I will give it a try. I'm shy by nature (problem 1) and insecure in my investment knowledge (problem 2). I've made some stupid decisions in the market, and it has left me very gun shy regarding making any suggestions. I am still trying to crawl out of the hole I dug for myself. Okay, here goes. I was a high school art teacher for five years. I decided I must make more money and decided to go into computers. I loved programming and analysis. The past few years I have been more in management (not as easy or as much fun). <ggg> I am the Year 2000 project manager for a large state agency. Three years ago we had an estimate done by IBM on the amount of money it would require for us to become Y2K compliant. They said $16,000,000 to be compliant by 01/01/2000. I managed to pull it off by 05/31/1999 for just under $3,000,000. We did a more exhaustive job than was required and I am very proud of our results. All the credit goes to my team. Anyway, I said all that to say this: A while back I was honored by the State House of Representatives for a job well done. While I was cooling my heels in the hall before going into the chamber, George W and his guards(?) stood right by my bench and listened to some of the local gentry solicit his support for something or other. He listened politely and escaped as soon as possible. His guards are really Texas Rangers dressed up like normal people and have those wires in their ears like Secret Service men. Whew, that's all for now! Peach
