Hi Amy, OT, Red Hat

Thanks for that on iCast. I'm sure your thread will be well run! I'll check it out.

Speaking of IPOs (if we are. If we aren't, I will.) Fry's in Sunnyvale Saturday (maybe also more Fry's stores, more than Saturday) had some Red Hat reps and demo stuff. I talked with them briefly to get a better idea of their business. Right now, their biggest revenue item is sales of Linux OS on CD, but ultimately they expect service for Linux to take over as top revenue producer. They did talk better scalability than NT, and much better robustness than Windows. Some customers of theirs were also talking about how they liked Red Hat, sort of a groupie thing like with Apple (bring flames). Of course, it's not for everybody (faint of heart?). When I asked about some of their well known customers, they mentioned some, gave me a flyer, which I left at home. Anyway, Red Hat has begun its road shows leading up to their IPO.
