A somewhat contrarian point of view.

The recent and continuing? sell off should set the stage for an even stronger Ampex revival going forward especially toward the end of the year.

Look at it this way. A lot of weak hands are being squeezed and shaken out of some very short term oriented positions. Judging from the clamor over at Yahoo, as of about two weeks ago, nothing short of well into the teens within two weeks of the 28th, either side, would satisfy.

IMO these expectations were, now past tense, totally unrealistic. All i'm hoping for is a clear statement of strategy execution and a business operating plan voiced by the new Internet operating group. Also, with AENTV and TVW now consolidated in Q's, very likely quarter to quarter revenue, not necessarily earnings, will begin to show serious increases.

If this Internut revaluation continues to run, then the entire sector, including AXC (thanks to Carl R.for the apropos comparison charts) will continue to soften.

There will be a revival. There always is. However, this time Ampex can be finally fully ready for participation, be fully re-branded and fully fleshed out with regard to its own Internet products/services line (remember - the later operationally targeted for next Winter).

In conclusion, with a redefined product /services/branded image, Ampex will be much better able to catch the next Internet wave, the much more important one of content and entertainment, and the stock will then be better positioned to compete for the rush of new buyers being born among today's sellers.
