Ron, to me this thread should be for the exchange of understanding so
that those like me can have facts and ideas and guesses to put together
and arrive at a more than "don't know" view.

Personnel attacks stop information from being presented.

The posture "I'am right and your wrong" from each side kills a thread.

Those with an investment of money into gold do have an agenda to seek
out facts to show that their investment will be rewarded.

Easy how conflict can occure when there is something to loose.

Money invested in stockmarkets or like gold or oil stuff should be done
with a possible lost or gain to result.

But add in manuliptation and con games and sucker punches, then the
landscape changes to trust vs lies, and thus the other side is trying to
do damage to you, to get your goods, ...etc.

"Give them people jobs and an economic future and
YOU'LL BE AMAZED
at how well they can learn to live together."

"It's when they have nothing to lose that they become dangerous."

... as in take away what should be theirs

land
religion
money
return in investment

Doug

In the 30's the US government confiscated the gold of its citizens because it was a threat to its paper currency. Furthermore all gold backed financial instruments were banned - same thing in Canada. this gold was not bought from gold miners but from its own citizens

Ron,

<<Why do you waste YOUR time here?? >>

Because I still believe that gold has a role to play - you do not. In fact, by your posts, I would say that you despise gold, it undermines an economy and prevents it from growing.

Bottom line, I have little confidence in governments of all stripes (my own included) to navigate the economy properly - at some point I believe the whole works has the potential to cave it. I do not want to see that happen - but I do want a mechanism to preserve wealth - and the world needs one that is more universal than the US dollar - or any particular dollar for that matter.

I am here to try and ensure gold lives on - because there are people like you that want the opposite.
