Ron, in reading all these back and forth posts I started to realize that some
of what you have been saying sounds like "this is fact, the way it is" and the
other view sounds like "this is the way it is because this is the way it should be".

As I looked closer I started to see that events that happened and have recently
happened are not the items being argued as much as the events that not only
preceded them, but the purpose or reason to do something long ago.

I feel quite foolish now, as it has taken me this long to scope out whats happening
on this thread, and I might even become more so if I'am wrong. But this is the
only way I know how to learn, to nod my head "yes" and say I understand
or say I agree or not, when I am clueless results in me remaining clueless
and others will regard me as a dummy. I'll rather be looked at as stupid than a
dummy if the former gives me a chance to learn.

<<the gold market was subsidized and distorted by the gold standard>>

side 1 = gold standard is always needed to insure sound paper money
side 2 = above not true, and if tried, price of gold artifically controlled

side 1 sees a misuse of paper money, and the system of paper money
is in serious trouble because it was taken off gold standard, and those
who put paper money in trouble want to get out of trouble by doing more
of the same, but need the gold standard concept destroyed first. So, this
is the manipulation of the price of gold.

side 2 says let nature correct itself from unnatural controls, like the gold
standard control.
