The Licensee was not disclosed because of terms of the agreement (in the press release). The only company I can see that would want to hide their identity is Mitsubishi.

My guess is that Mitsubishi and their lawyers know they got the patent suit overturned on a wacky technicality so they decided to license the technology.

I wouldn't be surprised if by licensing the technology from Ampex they agreed that Ampex wouldn't pursue the patent suit.

Of course all of this is just conjecture on my part
