scarecrow-- very interesting post. i am assuming (with all the risk that entails!) that you see cmgi poised to take advantage of the predicted hypercompetitive environment. if not, i might as well eat a bullet.

Scarecrow- Great piece. The Internet will grow. It will not grow, IMHO, as explosively as some of us will like, but it will fundamentally change the way we do business. I am not smart enough to know who will last and who will fade away, and I don't think anybody really is. So I hedge my bets with VC co like CMGI and a slew of other companies in most I-net sub-sectors. In 10 years I expect 75% of my stocks will be worthless and the other 25% to be worth millions. DW may be smart, so was John Delorean. I will ride with DW, but not exclusively, and urge other to diversify as well. JMHO Larry

Scarecrow, That article is exactly the reason that Engage and Silknet look to be so interesting. This next level of the Internet where all companies have customer driven web pages, of which we are just now seeing, is going to mean tremendous growth to these companies. CMGI sees this and is positioned to ride it out. So am I. Regards, Stuart
