Robert, I did not see a blinking banner when I checked that page. Also very interesting to report, I have not seen the pop up window with the advertising messages since I first reported it on Saturday. Possibly it was a test - since that was the day the new home page went up. Has anyone seen the pop up ads? It was in Netscape, haven't seen them ever using Explorer.

Robert, when you entered the thread did you arrive via Go2Net's home page or through your password on SI? I have never seen a banner on any thread, but I always enter via my link to SI. Oops...let me rephrase that, I have been on Go2Net's home page and clicked on a thread from there. At that point I am treated like any other lurker and get to see all the advertisement and banners. If I choose to post or check a profile from there I am asked for my ID and password. That is when I get to go behind the secret curtain. Sarkie
