Articles in today's Financial Times US Edition pgs 17 and 30: serious shortages and pricing pressures on Cobalt. One quote: "Japan is the world's second largest cobalt consumer and the situation could have serious ramifications for its electronics manufacturers such as Sony, Matsushita, Toshiba and Sanyo, which use cobalt in batteries, super-alloys and pigments." A graph shows LME pricing going from $8 per pound in Jan. to $24 per pound today.

"... markets in general are not as efficient as one might think,"

It is perfectly understandable that you have to make yourself believe this. Its similar to the ostrich's tactic when he is without hope and frightened silly.

VLNC has fallen below its 200 dma. (and it can't get up!!!)

"... even manipulation (though certain folks deny it, it IS occurring).

Right, this is the other predictable but grossly flawed rationalization.

Denial is costly.

By the way, did you see the Nasdaq today? : )
