Interesting find, Michael. Recently, when confronted with this, somebody at Yahoo claimed that Japanese batteries comprise so little Cobalt that price doesn't matter. The foregoing is good for a chuckle but we have to consider that those firms seem to defy normal economics, at least until the competition is crucified. Makes one wonder about the other Cobalt users though.

Ah, Michael, I found the link.... it was you (!) who first alerted us back in Feb: Message 7796293

I believe I also read an article in the WSJ which had the comment from a Japanese manufacturer regarding alternative materials being considered.

Thanks again for keeping us abreast.

Rich

Very interesting find, Michael. I remembered there being something about the Cobalt supply. The Japanese may have a problem now, or at least higher productions costs, but I wouldn't want to wish that on them. :-)

Whatever happened to William Epstein?
