ok, i'll take the challenge again. i think it is dangerous thinking to say, in this order...

1. let's buy puts on cmb, it's a pos
2. cpi comes out
3. it's fixed...

if you are going to spot something

1. it's fixed
2. therefor, the cpi will be benign
3. therefor, i shouldn't buy puts on financials

is a whole different matter. after the fact calling it a conspiracy is a posture that will fail. it is a world view of archie bunker. if you want to come home each day and see the world as having stacked the deck against you, that is the kind of world you will find. tremendous evidence is available after the fact every day.

i believe in fighting the good fight and not giving in.

If that, indeed, is the case, Mohan, isn't it always time to buy FOTM calls by the shovel?

Edit: Personally, I do not think that the numbers are rigged, hence I only buy OTM calls.

I think govmnt numbers are more cooked than the most dishonest of the public cos -- because there the environment is perfect for the average worker to think he'll be rewarded for doing what he thinks his boss "really" wants him to do ... know what I'm saying?
