Yougang - Re: "Is it possible for you to put out a reasonable speculation as to the K7 output in Q2"

Trust me - my guess isn't better than anyone elses.

But, doing the math:

Q2 ends June 28, 1999.

Assumption 1: Packaged and final-tested parts avaliable for shipment in some volume at start of June (ie March 8 + 3 months).

Assumption 2: 3 weeks shipments before quarter ends

Assumption 3: Wafer starts per week (WSPW) allocated to K7 in Fab 25 in the relevant period are 200 (worst case) and 500 (best case)

Assumption 4: 140 die per wafer on the 0.25um process at 184cm2

Message 9802487

Assumption 5: 500Mhz yield is 50% (best case) and 500Mhz yield is 25% (worst case)

So, worst case Q2 production is 21k (ie 3*200*140*.25), best case production is 105k.

Mid-point is 65k.
