Today I walked in our local Office Depot and noticed that all of the Compaq and Toshiba laptops (AMD k6-2s) are missing. The sales guy told me that they are very popular and they have trouble keeping them in stock.

Scumbria, Those are empty suits, they are glad the workers are gone, workers sweat and fart and suits have feelings too. Intel was a pioneer in the use of fully automated bunny suits for advanced fab use.
Having been in an environmental suit(rad suit 15 years ago) I know what they are like. They never get the venting right, you are too hot or too cold and when too hot sweat trickles down. True the workers are not heaving loads and suits are better now with better thermal controls, but I suspect they are not comfortable even now, bearable...yes.
