I just got a Maxtor 10.0 gig HDD at Staples for $179, minus a $50 rebate and get Norton Utilities 4.0 for free.

>>Still may go with a 8G for ~$120

34GB, 37GB both sound pretty tasty. However, I've been super
pleased with my new 20GB maxtor, now 275 (apprx) at buy.com.
Cheaper per mb than 8GB @ 120, and faster, too. BTW, this
drive is whisper quiet. Maxtor also announced a 27G (5400)
just the other day. Think I've seen a price but don't
recall where or how much.

I will say this. With over 50GB spread over three drives
on my current system, for the first time
since I got my very first PC with a whole 210MB of disk.
I am truly not pressed for disk space. That 210MB
lasted me a year, and this is the first since where
I think there's a chance at another year. So, naturally,
as soon as I retire I'm going into digital imaging, not
to mention tick databases ... <GGG>.

Where are those terrabyte drives, anyhow?
