Peter S. Pelullo -- Founder, Chairman
From his entrepreneurial background in the music recording side of the FM radio business, Mr. Pelullo recognized the potential of utilizing FM radio towers for voice paging. After he identified this patent pending technology, Mr. Pelullo raised the seed capital required to develop the concept. Prior to Clariti, Mr. Pelullo owned an international record label and recording studios.
Ronald R. Grawert -- Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Grawert, 50, has over 25 years experience in the telecommunications industry serving in increasingly responsible roles as both a service provider and an infrastructure provider in the domestic and international arenas.
He joins Clariti from Mobilemedia Communications, Inc., one of the nation's largest paging companies, where he has served as President and Chief Executive Officer since 1997. While at Mobilemedia, Mr. Grawert was responsible for the company's rapid improvement in operating performance which resulted in substantial improvement of its financial results and led to Mobilemedia's successful merger with Arch Communications, Inc (Nasdaq: ARCH). Prior to joining Mobilemedia, Mr. Grawert served as Executive Vice President of GTE Mobilnet. Mobilnet, currently known as GTE Wireless, was the result of the merger of GTE Mobilnet and Contel Cellular, Inc., which at the time, created the nation's fourth largest cellular carrier with revenues of $2.5 billion and operating income of approximately $450 million. During 14 years of service with GTE, Mr. Grawert held various management positions including Director of Product Management, Vice President of Technology for all of GTE's non-regulated businesses, and President of GTE Mobilnet - GTE's original cellular operation before the merger with Contel Cellular.
Mr. Grawert has also held managerial positions with an international telecommunications venture, Private TransAtlantic Telecommunications Systems, Inc., with consulting firm Booz Allen & Hamilton and in the computer industry with Burroughs Corporation. Mr. Grawert has served on the Board of Directors of the Telecommunications Industry Association for the past six years where he was Chairman of the Board from 1997 to 1998 and currently serves as Chairman Emeritus. In addition, he is a member of the Board of Directors of the Personal Communications Industry Association. Mr. Grawert is a graduate of Florida State University, has a M.S. in Systems Engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology and received an MBA degree from the University of Santa Clara.
Joseph A. Smith --- Executive Vice President, Telecom Ventures.
Joe has over 20 years experience in the wireless telecommunications industry. He has built and operated cellular and paging businesses in both the US and international markets. Prior to joining Clariti, Joe was a Group Executive Vice President at Metromedia International. At Metromedia, Joe was responsible for both paging and wireless local loop businesses in over 15 international countries. Prior to Metromedia, Joe was a Senior Executive Vice President at Metrocall where he directed the company's US paging operations.
Daniel B. McDuffie --- Senior Vice President, Telecom Operations
Dan spent the last 10 years in the Telecommunications and Internet markets. In 1993 he started Intelecom, a consulting firm to facilities based carriers focusing on the global telecom marketplace, and was active in the pre-deregulated European market. In 1996 he worked for iTelsa, a facilities based prepaid card company owned by Albert Weintraub (a founder of WorldCom), as Vice President Business Development, Europe. In 1997 he was recruited as CEO of Interoute Telecom, the US arm of Interoute Telecommunications Group, which is a facilities based carrier based in London. During that time Interoute USA revenues grew from zero to a run rate of $120 million in its 12th month of operations, and today it represents approximately 30% of the Interoute Group as a whole.
Michael P. McAndrews -- President (Clariti Wireless Messaging)
Prior to joining Clariti, Mr. McAndrews was a marketing executive in the paging and cellular phone divisions of Motorola where he was a manager on the teams that developed two award-winning products - the StarTACâ„¢ cellular phone and the PageWriterâ„¢ 2-way pager. Prior to Motorola, he worked for DuPont and General Electric, and spent 4 years working in Japan where he established a distribution network for a new computer data storage product. Mr. McAndrews has a degree in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University and an MBA from Harvard University.
Richard Meagher -- CEO (Global First)
Richard is an honors graduate in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, gained at the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom. Richard has 20 years experience in the IT and Telecommunications industries, spanning development, engineering, sales, marketing and business management. Richard ahs held senior management positions with Standard Telecommunications and Cables Plc (STC Plc now part of Nortel), Alcatel Telecom the $30 billion French based telecom manufacturer, and most recently as Managing Director of Frontier Communications, the European subsidiary of Frontier Corporation of North America. As Managing Director of Frontier, Richard held responsibility for the design, construction, and operation of the Frontier network, for the development of all sales and distribution channels, and for the P&L of the UK business. In the last two years Richard has grown Frontier's UK operations from $6 million annualized revenues to $100 million annualized revenues.
James Boyd -- Vice President of Finance and Chief Accounting Officer
Mr. Boyd served in several finance and management positions with Sun Company, a major petroleum company, prior to joining Clariti. He also worked as a Senior Accountant with Price Waterhouse. Mr. Boyd is a certified public accountant with an MBA in Finance from Drexel University and a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from the University of Delaware. |
