I am not sure about being required to tell the whole world during the quiet period as opposed to giving guidance only to analysts outside of quiet periods. I did not see a distinction but you might want to ask T. LaFountain or maybe some one else on the thread knows.

Tad already reported about his Private business visit to AMD in late January of this year - or thereabouts.

They told him squat.

One week after he visited, they made their first - of three - preannouncements.

Tad was blind sided by AMD - like all the other AMDiehards.
