Jeff....<<Please, calm your people and neighbors down! If you can....>> After a 90 billion $ ravaging and 10,000 Kosovon's annihilated from the face of the earth, Serbs are back on square one they have accepted a deal that could have possibly be achieved before the bombing started and any damaged imposed on Yugoslavia.

From Hitler to Milosovic human history is checkered with incidents where an ounce of common sense could have made we humans look little better than organized planners of genocide. This dark side of human beings to carry out organized destruction or I call them architect of creative destruction is worst attribute. It is absent in any predator, so it makes us a combo of great and banal we shift gears with ease from sublime to ridiculous and we all can justify our most unjustifiable positions. We collude to eliminate, we are all self-righteous, we have double standards, we rank importance of human life based on belief and not that we belong to same stock.

Unless in my humble opinion we discover virtue in sanctity of human life beyond creed, we all one way or the other will be willing partners in collective decline of virtue. Unfortunately we all forget that at one time or the other we even the most enlightened have fought wars to protect our capitalism and impose our wills in societies who were not receptive to our brand of virtues we napalmed them to bring them senses.
Inherent nature of man to see 'wisdom' and 'political correctness' in his myopic views only is what I believe is the cause of strife. Million of argument can be raised for and against 'war mania' and bloody battles, however the fact is that it is only after huge loss of life and despicable orgies of spilling blood we rise to the occasion.

That ' Rip van Winkle of statesman' in us at the moment is sleeping. Sub-continent 'cheap blood' anyway has never attracted attention and why should it, we in this region have collectively decided to duck the issues and keep bombing the hell out of each other. We have no right to call ourselves as responsible, after a long war or a totally annihilating exercise hopefully we will be much more weaker and ready to talk peace. One will certainly come out stronger than other, he may also teach us a lesson we will never forget but the fact remains, after all that torn limbs we will negotiate and solve the issues we don't want to handle now. How can we change this human innate nature? We are prisoners of our circumstances and contemporary history!

It is only after catastrophic destruction we have learnt to look at other options, most recently only after shattered Yugoslavia, Milosovic accepted NATO in Kosovo and it was only after decimation of 'Third Reich' that Germans agreed to rebuild from scratch. It is most unfortunate and tragic we in this region are trapped in sea of hostilities, which dates back to inbred distortions fomented by religious hysteria and skewed interpretation of history..

What you are seeing in our region is perfect execution of human doctrine of 'annihilation of enemy through war'. Perhaps history tells us differently as many a Alexander's have failed to do, but war is a professional matter and as Churchill once very rightly said to sensitive to be left in the hands of the generals. In this game of chicken no one is going to back out. No excuse for our failing but like many a tragedies in our miserable poverty stricken existence this is one more, we are oblivious to history we want to learnt it hard way. We think fight will resolve our poverty and homelessness. We think 'independence' is that panacea that has kept us so poor and downtrodden. As if we don't have enough of independence, we want that one last one, I look at Afghanistan in achieving that 'last independence' after 50,000 amputees much can be desired from that independence. The lost of civility and failure of state is the biggest casualty, I hope we are not going to have that kind of trade off! It is independence from dogma we should fight for, we are right now fighting to impose dogma. May be I should have not bored you with this, just got carried away.Pardon me...
