I like them... I acutally shared some PM's with someone a while ago here on SI... this guy had a daughter who was working with Sotheby's, he told me they were in talks with ebay and who knows who else and I thought it sounded great but I didn't act on it, then in a few weeks ebay acquired butterfield and I assumed Sotheby's broke down. Maybe ebay was looking to acquire only. But Butterfield is a distant third to Sotheby's and Christies in fine auctions so not in the same league.

I could tell when ebay started auctioning antiques that the high end was going to boom. I know a lot of people that would love to bid on antiques at one of the fine auction houses but its such a mystery how to do it and whats going on that they don't. I think Sotheby's will really do well with this. I don't know what Christies will do but something I'm sure, maybe theres a spec play with Christies too.
