I've done some checking on HOW the new GoProfit Directory Engine works. Here's what I've found... The directory works like this. As a financial directory, GoProfit has the search engine find and place pertinent business links into specific categories. For GoProfit those categories currently are... Transportation Small Business Service Industries Retail Industry Real Estate Personal Finance Marketing and Advertising Manufacturing Industries Nonprofit Organizations Investing International Trade Finance Employment and Work Electronic Commerce Economics Corporations Corporate Services Consumer Issues The categories can be modified and expanded to meet the changing demands of the GoProfit's marketplace. Under each category there may be sub-categories. The options are endless but the queries don't have to be. The idea is that users won't be bombarded with thousands of irrelevant matches to a query. GoProfit can instruct the directory engine to browse the Web and collect only relevant information pertinent to what GoProfit finds to be best suited to their worldwide audience. But they can also mirror the site to focus on particular regions of the world for advertising, etc. By the way, I also found that the shopping application that GoNow.com is using is now supposed to have 3 million items users can buy.
