Well you should stop being amused and start worrying.

The K7 is clearly a great processor.

At 0.18 and Copper from Dresden it will run close to 1Ghz and with a 105mm2 die size cost in $30-50 range for die cost.

The key of course is dresden and the 0.18 with Cu process.

Such parts may start rolling off the fab in Q3 best case in which case Intel as we know it today is DEAD.

Worst case it'll be another year or so before the get things worked out.

In which case willamette should save the day assuming it shows up in Q3 2000.

BTW, I hear that a K7 8 way chip set is still on schedule for year end- hell they may even beat the corollory guys - and who would have thunk that!!!.
