This is beginning to sound like astrology, and depending upon your sign, a MPU may or may not have a soft error. <G>

Okay, on a serious note: do soft errors get in the way of Intel targeting the high-end Server market? That RAS stuff Tony/Mary were talking about.

If it does, I assume the workaround is something like the solution Gerald mentioned (i.e. redundant system in same box, I believe?) which means more chips to be sold but with less room for play on price.
