<Chuck - re: Right at the bottom it talks about "Mark" thinking Intel is undervalued. OK, let's see, he downgrades the stock two notches (from Strong Buy all the way down to Outperform) and thinks the stock is undervalued.>

Morgan Stanley Dim Witter analyst Mark Edelstone is trying to protect his reputation and his clients at the same time. Unfortunately for him these are contradictory goals at this time.

Chuck: re "downgrades the stock two notches "

Actually, I believe that the MSDW rating system is Strong Buy/Outperform/Neutral (or Hold), so it's only a one notch drop.

But that doesn't detract from your valid question about "undervalued."
If the EPS estimates are lowered to $2.25 and $2.55, that's a 13% growth rate. At $55, the P/E is 21.6x or a 50% premium to the growth rate. Undervalued seems a bit of a stretch.

Might get there, though! - Tad LaFountain
