I agree that hard disks are pretty fragile compared to CDs or tape back-ups. So some other media might make more sense.

The main point I wanted to make to e.Digital is that they need to look beyond the current product to other related opportunities to extend the impact of their MicroOS in the audio arena. They have an opportunity to establish market dominance in the field if they come out with a full product line, rather than simply an audio player. The best way to do so is to partner with an established audio component manufacturer as their engineering source.

I think with a little thought a number of other possibilities would quickly come to mind. Perhaps others on this thread have some ideas for e.Digital to consider.

I would love to see "Engineered by e.Digital" or "MicroOS" as often as I see "Dolby" on consumer audio products.
