SGI and INTC: . . . . Yes, Kevin. . . and have you noticed the increasing volatility over the past several weeks. . . chart two months ago was like a lake in Maine. . .chart over past 20 days is more like the North Atlantic. I doubled my position in SGI today. Here is my thinking. The internet is slow. . . and it is only text. The full-motion broadband internet sent via fibre-optic cable and into set-top boxes will be blazing. But at this point, I see very little difference between my cable modem and a 56k modem, when using things like SI or brokerage houses or quotes or nearly 95 percent of my uses. . . WHY? Because the slowness of the internet is not due to the speed of transmission, but that of the server. Slow servers will keep the internet slow. . .regardless of the connection speed. So far, there are few complaints. But crank up to broadband and full-motion video with audio and we have a totally different story. Forget about trying to run a server on a PC from your home then. . . way too much data speed. So I foresee many many many companies, web hosts, etc. upgrading to the very fastest servers available. . . and SGI is right there to sell fill the need. I like the new image and logo as well. . . and feel that the industry will indeed start taking them more seriously. . .likewise, the street should begin taking notice right away. And don't forget that SGI has been making equity investments into the best of the broadband oriented companies of late. . . similarly to what INTC has been doing. . . . . . incidently, INTC will make a nice buy when it finds it's bottom. . . for similar reasons. Pentium will be just a drop in the bucket of products available by Intel over the next few years, IMO. This company is not out by a long shot. Think about it. NBC selected Intel to handle ther digital programming. Let's be wise out there, folks. . . .what worked last year will not necessarily work this year. . . the biggest movers may be those that have barely budged over the past few years. Rande Is
