That commercial is the most idiotic one I have seen in a long time.

I thought I saw it during Round 1 of the NBA playoffs (NBC) on Wednesday.

*OT* Adam, the weird thing about that HP one is that I could swear they are using the voice from the one of the Ameritrade spots. You know the one "...[big dramatic buildup] you pull the trigger and execute". Not just the voice itself, but the pace, the content...

Or is that Suretrade?

See, I registered that spot as "some online discount broker playing on the home trader-as-ronin metaphor."

A great spot for INTC and the PIII would be playing around w/ some of the ideas in the one a while back where the teen-ager cut+pasted his girlfriend's head onto the body of an angel.

CONCEPT: Two people meet online and one asks for the picture. Rather than just stick his head on a model...okay, he does that first, but there's an old movie playing in the background...so he morphs his head onto some of the great scenes from the Golden Age of Hollywood...

I don't know if it's possible, but something like that plays on the universal.

Then again, that would be sacriliegous. Frankly, IMHO we'll know we're close to the end when Jim and Judy at the local Dairy Queen can replace Bogie and Hepburn in the African Queen.

I guess what I'm trying to say is - I don't have a robot! <g>

Good trading,

Tom

Adam,

Speaking of annoying techie commercials, how about the HP commercial during
Squawk Box with the Matrix-like martial arts moves and the little IT girl
explaining how the "unstoppable Windows NT" defeats computer crashes.

That one is specifically intended to combat Scumbria's "NT sucks" campaign.

When those come on, it's a race for the remote to change the station or mute it. What is HP thinking?
