More Brocade Buzz from the always available Mark Hall who apparently has his ear tuned just right to selectively hear these tales- including the long awaited story of a moth turning into a butterfly ?

>>>SANs plans...If you're not a Java developer, don't despair. There are other jobs. Data General's CLARiiON group will be hiring 400 engineering and support staff in the next few months to get a jump on the "exploding" SAN market. I also heard that the company will be OEMing a switch in the next few months. But my source was mum on who would provide it. One of the likely candidates is Brocade, which I'm told will make an announcement next week about its new SilkWorm 2000 family, including a software-upgradable switch that is said to link arbitrated loop storage devices and servers in a storage area network.

>>>I've heard that Brocade, working with Sequent, has tested SANs at 3x the 10km limits imposed by the Fibre Channel specification. When it will be ready for prime time, my source wouldn't speculate.
