i read his book and agree with him that it is generally better to buy stocks making new highs than looking for bargains. his sell advice is based on 8% stops which would have caused me to sell all my winners such as yahoo, dell, cisco and msft at much lower prices.

i have found however that many of the stocks featured in his newspaper (generally making new 52 week highs) have been winners.

as for the cup and handle there was a lot of discussion about it when the stock last hit 85 only to drop into the mid 70's.

i had heard that the fund he managed, the o'neil fund, collapsed.
