There's also the fact that of the tens of thousands of SI members, 99% of the bashing messages probably come from a dozen or so people.

"If you have seen any banner ads please let me know."

This reply speaks to me of anger and of arrogance, not of a calmly measured executive action.

The only thing to admire, IMO, about his reply, is that, as top dog, he took the heat. BUT...

Sarcasm to customers won't stand him in good stead now, in the long run, anytime. And the longer the thundering silence from the troops below him on this matter, especially in light of SI's openness in the past, the more it will look like a decision imposed from the top, in the face of opposition.

On the other hand, assuming it was argued out beforehand, and then imposed, everyone should now fall into line.

How sad,
Tom

Let's face it - many have jumped all over them before they ever had a chance to explain.

Not true. I immediately addressed PMs to several SIers asking them what was up. I WANTED them to explain. They have not answered either by PM or on threads.

This is totally different from any other time I have addressed questions to Bob, Jill, or Brad. They have always responded within hours. (Sometimes I have wondered if they ever sleep!)

For all of them to allow days to go by without responding is so out of the pattern that it cannot be accidental. When the facts are overwhelming, the conclusion is inevitable. If they won't talk to us, won't even acknowledge messages, won't even say that they will have information for us by a certain time, they have NO complaints about what rumors may develop and grow. And they have NO complaints when some of us who have supported them both financially and otherwise over the years feel betrayed.

And just why, I may ask, are you being an apologist? May I suggest that you use some of your time and effort to encourage them to talk to us again?
