I don't personally benefit....not everyone on these threads is motivated solely by the Almighty dollar...it just amazes me how many investors on these threads lack understanding of what has happened to their medical care...there should have been a groundswell revolt over what the managed care companies like Aetna and the Blues are doing to the QUALITY of medical care in this country.....Oh I forgot, the wealthy will always be able to afford the best of medical care.

P.S.- go to Mallinckrodt for your imaging studies...excellent Dept.

One of the principal problems of university medical research (IMO) is that there are very few incentives for professors to discover anything, except professional pride. My university is trying to steal all intellectual property rights from the faculty. Ridiculous, there will be nothing left to steal when the productive guys pull out. Very few universities are willing to share proceeds of successful research and discovery with their faculty (who make it happen). [maybe a little summer pay!] Moreover, they do not know how to develop and commercialize their discoveries. Look at the internet and web invented in the universities which made almost nothing from the discoveries [ok, U of I's share of Spyglass). Big pharmaceuticals are in almost as bad a shape. Many of them teetering on the bring of destruction because they cannot bring out new products. When universities and drug companies discover the motivational effects of widespread bonuses and stock options, like electronics and semiconductor manufacturers, stand by for an explosion in knowledge and profitability.
