Tony - <Cowen was negative (called himself neutral).>

This'd be Drew Peck, from Cowen & Co., I believe.

<He said it's a bigger, longer term problem of ASPs, and the market calling for the cheaper Celerons than the high end Intel chips. He said he expects Intel to have to work this out over two or three years. When Mark Haines asked if Intel is addressing the problem, he said (sit down if you're standing) "yes". >

Really? What's the world coming to? This is actually quite positive coming from Mr. Peck.

<The solutions for Intel, he said, were in the areas of cost control and diversification. He said Intel was doing this by promoting Craig Barrett, who comes from MFG (the cost part), and buying Level 1 (the diversification part). I guess Mikey, I mean the street, likes it so far.>

Amen to that bruh-thuh.

Making sense of Analysts....why bother...

Total BS....Fact is; There are few companies that are as well run as INTC. They will NEVER be replaced as #1. NEVER! Any dip is an opportunity...unless you only hold stocks for a day.

Tony, >>>Cowen was negative (called himself neutral). He said it's a bigger, longer term problem of ASPs, and the market calling for the cheaper Celerons than the high end Intel chips.<<<

I caught the last 30 seconds where Mark Edelstone from AG Cowens (I believe) was chanting his mantra lower ASP not making up for higher volume .

Remember, he was the anlayst that admitted he did not understand the Xeon market and Intel's potential in that sector. Did he ever indicate that he is now up to speed in that area?
