Walt, someone on this board sometimes includes a link to C-Cube about DVD-RAM chip sets. The largest market for DVD-RAM will be the video replacement. There are currently two obsticals to over come. One is 4.7 gigs, which is now proven doable, and the other is bringing down the price of the encoder chip set, so you can record in real time. Do you or anyone else know where C Cube is on the price curve for the chip set?

Walt, the way I read this is that it is an 8 speed write drive. This would be a new challenge to existing drive makers in the $600 dollar range.

Hey, are people starting to realize that we will be getting royalties on the razor blades? Up 5/8 in a blah market.
