Gustave,

I have pointed out again and again on this newsgroup
how hypocritical it is of NATO to complain about the
behavior of Yugoslavia (a non-member nation) when one
of its own members, Turkey, continues to practice
ethnic cleansing, genocide, and ethnic suppresion against
one of its ethnic groups, the Kurds. Quite frankley,
the Kurds are deserving of nationhood. They qualify
for nationhood in virutally every way except that when
the old British Empire drew up the lines for nations
such as Iraq and Kuwait, they did not give the Kurds
their own land. There probably was a reason for this
but I don't know what it was. But then hypocracy is
not something new to the British, after all, they are
at virtual war with an ethnic group (Northern Irish
Catholics) and crush the goal of self-determination
with a ferocious military presence.
