<<If anyone has real upside potential, it's Intel.>>

Absolutely! But only if Intel can get rid of AMD, OR

Find a way to stop the price war!

RE: "You really ought to pick your comparisons more carefully."

I believe you misread my post. What I said was that many intc longs come over to this thread and compare the quality of their intc investments to an AMD investment. Naturally they consider the intc investment to be a superior investment. The comments from Briefing.com refute that premise and categorize the intc investment (at least since 1997) as one that is somewhat less than desirable. Briefing.com made no mention of AMD this am. Usually comparisons of profitability and investment yields between AMD and intc come from intc longs and I would be really surprised if you think otherwise.

In fact I see little to compare between AMD and intc (just look at the sizable difference in their market caps) but I do recognize that they compete in certain segments of the chip markets. I have been confounded by the intc longs and the quality of their postings on this thread, and have concluded that either paranoia runs rampant on the intc thread or it is made up of some people who enjoy denigrating other people whose investments have been less successful. After doing my dd, I chose to invest in AMD. I concluded that AMD best fits my investment parameters and had the potential for considerable upside. You are more than entitled to your opinion and my posting this morning was not intended to dissuade you from your position but rather to let other AMD longs know that not all in the rest of the world share the intc longs' view that theirs is a superior investment (to AMD and any other companies trading in the markets....in other words, to all other companies and their stocks)..

I hope this clears up any misunderstanding you may have.
