Carolyn, Glad to hear you were just checking COVD out because they got hit today, down 5.14%.
I have to tell you what GNET was like to deal with when it was a bitty baby, an unwanted IPO. Having worked for a multi-billion dollar company and then dealing with smaller companies I think I can judge a company. It is all in the questions you ask.
Anyway GNET was like brand new and I call and I end up talking with this guy who can tell me about GNET. This was when you could buy a share with what you had in your pocket change. He is a real can do GNET employee, who back then understood I was looking at his company as an investor. Most people did not invest in internets so my call was not a common call back then.
So I had questions for him. Bam, he had answers or he got answers. Then I wanted to know about this guy called Russell Horowitz. I really checked him out, read everything he said, saw him on cable. Watched the early moves he made for GNET, picked him apart. He went to the same school as Gates, his college, major, etc... He wanted his company making money, paying as you went along and damn did he make some killer deals. Smart deals for GNET stock. When GNET bought SI I knew then and put it in print that GNET now was a number the one target of a major (who turned out to be Allen).
GNET was a couple bucks a share then and I knew the internet from an investor's side, a business side and a user side. And hell if Fleck was in GNET and Russ was really in, then I'm in, hey great minds how could I go wrong?
Another thing about GNET when it was a bitty baby, there were not that many shares back then and I think Russell owned a good chunk of them. So you knew damn well he was going to work hard, right?
Well he does, they all do at go2net, I knew that with the first phone call I ever made to GNET. Very different from COVD today. That company today, they should refund my call IMO. 909S2U BLUE
