Scarecrow,

I agree with you.

DW lost on the LCOS deal. Painted himself into a corner. I think we may be doing it again.

CMGI has more pieces to make deals fit than any other company. For some reason, I just don't see AV making the grade. Nothing against the technology, but $2B is going to take a lot of success on the part of CMGI to swallow. Portals are about eyeballs, you mean to say we paid $2B so that I can do Boolean searches? Is AV in the top 20 of most visited sites?

I think CMGI is going to drag down the sector unless they can immediately show some revenues from this deal. I don't feel the 'Nets can handle another ATHM/XCIT. The markets are thru rewarding companies for stock buyouts based on absurd valuations. I repeat, this is going in reverse of our business model. CMGI is supposed to incubate a company, help set it's valuation and pen a deal to make money. Paying $2B for an established name is going leave CMGI holding the bag if they aren't careful.

I want to see how AV is supposed to be integrated into the CMGI fold before I'll be happy. I don't feel that anyone is infallible, even DW, and I think we'll see that reflected in the markets tomorrow.

Regards,
Stuart
