you have now combined
the art of spin-off with "if IBP married OXY, it'd be..."
or,
separated, and remarried after corporate birth.

Ampex currently has two basic parts, electronics and internet. The Ampex name is associated with top shelf electronics and broadcast equipment. One would prefer to maintain that name. Buy spinning off the holding company the electronics and equipment company would maintain the Ampex name and AXC symbol. The holding company would be spun off giving current AXC shareholders say 1 AXC share and maybe 1/2 new company share. Say the holding company issue 30 million total shares 25 million go to current AXC shareholders and 5 million are sold on the open market. This would allow the new company first to gain cash, second to gain a new name and thruogh the IPO gain tremendous visability. It also would force the market to value the asset on the holding company due to the IPO ( and potential IPO's of held companies). The end result would be current AXC shareholders would have 1 share AXC and 1/2 share XYZ. The storage company would be free, and under the guide of Mr. Cooper, to operate independently. This would give them the flexability to neg. with companies that now see them as the competion. The holding company would be freed from the image of the old AXC. Seems like we all win.
