Is this likely to be a bank only party, or will the Exchange be a conduit that CKFR can use to deliver bills from the major billers it has implemented to banks for delivery to their customers?

We may be putting an overly negative spin on this. Time will tell. The first pre-open trades are 3,000 shares @ 37.5 (down 3/16)and 3,000 @ 37.375. Offered @ 37 13/16 (above the close). We will trade down - but that (IMHO) will just be do to uncertainty, once the whole story is out, I think it may actually be a positive.

Just some thoughts!

Another quick one --

I've reread the press release once or twice and the thing that gets me is this:

"...today announced they are forming a new company to exchange electronic bills..."

LOTS and LOTS of talk in the release about bill presentment, NOT alot of talk about bill payment.

My simple, stupid view of the world:

Is it possible, out of fear and loathing of the Portals, that this consortium's ONLY real purpose is to:

(1) advertise and promote the advantages to EBPP through your trusted financial institution,

(2) to light a fire under the 59,000 corporate customers they have between them, to get them up and running with presentment in an environment that they can control (and earn some revenues from), and

3) leave the payment processing, pay anyone capability and customer care to Checkfree...

Pete has said many times that CF doesn't really want to be in the presentment business, so if the Exchange brings a few hundred major billers to the table, maybe it's not such a bad thing...
