I think that this is a distinct possibility. The only person who suggests that bill pay will be affected is Crafty.

A lot of this battle is for brand recognition. The banks want you to come to them to get and pay bills and get the customer "stickiness". The portals want exactly the same thing.

In essence, the banks are building a financial portal!!

Maybe when Pete said that CKFR wasn't going to receive much revenue from bill presentment, he had this type of release in mind. FWIW I think we will see the portal announcement next Thursday, July 1st. It seems to me that Merrill, H & Q and Alex Brown will no be forced to support the stock through this problem time. The question is when do they upgrade or better yet, do they load up at lower prices and then upgrade?
