Two industries that I follow, copper and disk drives, seem to be in the same boat about now. Read what Phelps Dodge's CEO has to say in Barron's this week.

interactive.wsj.com

“I've said to anyone who will listen that the best thing that could happen to this industry is 55-cent copper for six months to a year," comments Chairman and CEO Douglas Yearley, a tall, gray-haired executive with brown eyes and a boyish grin. "That would clear it out in a hurry. This 70-cent stuff is slow death."

I think that maybe the best thing that could happen would be for Seagate's U-4 to take the role of 55-cent copper and thin the DD herd by a gazelle or two. Is this a possibility?
