Hopefully the morning selloff will be waining after this first hour. It would be nice to see some green on my screen.

With regards to e Machine, I picked up a 400 mhz celeron 32 meg ram, cd, 15 inch monitor and lexmark printer for $599 after rebates. Can't beat that deal.

Maybe Dell will find a way to do this profitably... but I wouldn't bet on it.

Dell has turned down many opportunities to focus on the most profitable ones. I doubt this is just a whim.

I think you also underestimate how quickly and easily a new motherboard can be spun if no new technology is involved. It's nearly as easily as dragging and dropping the connectors to their new locations and letting the board routers churn for a few hours.
