The Basic Questions About Novell for investors

-1- Does the senior management of Novell understand where the company needs to go with product development for the company to grow from it's Netware base?

This question was answered with the appearance over the last year of the Zen series of applications and technology that use directory services. We have actually reached the stage here where Novell is not only developing the Zen technology for both enterprise and internet use and making it available to developers but is also acquiring companies like Ukiah that have taken NDS and developed superior products that Novell can use to strengthen its enterprise revenue base.

The speed with which Novell acquired Ukiah tells you as an investor that Novell's senior management doesn't let much pass it by in terms of what is happening on internet time in the directory marketplace. Schmidt is very serious about Novell becoming an internet leader with directory services.

-2- But will this management take decisive actions to remove bottlenecks either internally or externally if their removal will lead to better acceptance of Novell's new products or will it sit on its hands like the old Novell before the arrival of Schmidt?

Too many people think that a competent, intelligent mensch like Eric Schmidt cannot weed out the dead heads at Novell. Somehow the bench warmers will fool him. These people are wrong.

Novell's senior management is very focused on the success of Novell's winning the race to have its directory technology become the leading technology in the area of ecommerce. Do you think that with this priority they are not going to support the innovators within Novell? Do you think they are just going to watch the whole effort stagnate or drown because the company bureaucracy couldn't move fast enough to catch up with Novell's most innovative ecommerce initiatives?

NOT A CHANCE!!!

Look for some major developments at Novell in the near future. These developments will prove once again that we have the senior management at Novell that can lead this company into a future of growing revenues.
