COMS could help turn itself around by being an industry innovator again rather than a follower. First order of business would be to make a competitively priced controller-based PCI modem rather than turning out plain old PCI Winmodems like all of their competition. In fact, many competitors Winmodems have 5%to 10% better performance than 3COMs Winmodems.
