BB, wellcome to the club. In the late 1980'thies I had my accounts with Fidelity. At the time, wen I was shorting stock they were taking the money from my money market and did not pay me interst for the short position. Wen I confronted the Office Manager I was told that -

Fidelity does not want to assist clients who sell short US shares and they will not pay me interest as shorting stock is unpatriotic

Needless to say I was furious, so they told me close the account!
