Some thoughts on BDE for the night!
WOW, bear with me on this one. Check this out--
What would bde stock do if it were the driving technology behind Sega's new Dreamcast system that will be unveiled on 9-9-99?? Is this big enough to drive bde to new heights?
First, Rande and all, this post alerted me to the fact that a website for Sega sends you to the BDE home site. Then look at Kevin Bermeister's profile - connected in a major way to both NEC and Sega.

Kevin Bermeister Kevin Bermeister has served as President of the company since October 1996 and as a Director since August 1996. He is also Co-Owner and Director of Packard Bell / NEC Australia. Packard Bell / NEC Australia is one of the leading manufacturers and distributors of personal computers throughout the Australian mass merchant channel.
Kevin has also served as the joint Managing Director of Ozisoft Pty., Limited, a leading entertainment software distributor in both Australia and New Zealand, representing many of the world's leading publishers since its inception in 1982. He continues to own an equity interest in the organization.

Sounds like a deal completely built around the connections of Kevin Bermeister.
I like this because it will increase exposure (if this is the case) to BDE technology! Who knows what it could lead to.
What I do not know is how entertainment stocks react to such information and what will drive this stock through the roof (and hopefully for the company to be successful in the long term.) Admittedly, I am more concerned with the 3 to 6 month stock price. I would really, really like this stock to do what tune did!!:) (Wouldn't that be nice?)
Am I on target?

After checking it out, my enthusiasm dwindles (just a little). Notice in the following excerpt over 100 developers creating games. To me this says that if bde even makes a couple of games this will not do much for bde. Only if some of the technology in the SEGA machine comes from bde will it create a strong reaction. Don't get me wrong, I think a few more games is a big deal, but to me, they need to be bigger than a game producer (but then again, Rande knows more about this entertainment industry than anyone I know - what are your thoughts.)???
