> The Chinese leaders are a bunch of old selfish cronies who are trying to have their cake and eat it too.

The US leadership is a bunch of younger selfish cronies who are trying to have their cake, eat it and blame others who did not give up the cake to them.

> They want to unleash the power of a market economy without giving the freedom that goes with it for fear of being overthrown.

They took a look at how the Russians did it...and thought that maybe that is not the way to do this "reform" thing.

> They want respectability in the international area but act like thugs with their own people and other countries whenever they can.

Excuse me but the Chinese do not go around the world bombing smaller countries for "humanitarian" reasons.

> What I feel China needs is a transition towards what I would call an "iron fist democracy", led by a younger elite who would have the common sense to realize that respect for the rule of law and eradication of corruption is paramount to the success of a nation.

You can feel whatever you like...The Chinese will take care of their country as they see fit and you probably won't like it....But I guarantee you that no country will mess with them militarily because they are not a pushover like the "demonized" Serbs.

> Coming back to Kosovo, it is indeed remarkable, and admirable, that Taiwan gave so much to help.

Why is it so remarkable? It is called politics.....You give me something (FYROMacedonia recognizing Taiwan, Taiwan pays "aid" to Kosovo(so these refugees can get the hell out of FYROMacedonia) along with some "direct" aid to Swiss bank accounts of the top leaders in FYROM.

<Come back to Kosovo. it is indeed remarkable, and admirable, that Taiwan gave so much to help>
Don't you think that Taiwan has its hidden agenda?

Don't say we don't give anything. We send some money to Albania as I know.

Back to 60 to 70's, When Enver Hoxha was the leader of Albania, we sent out tons of aid to them and praise them as a "the only light of darkness Europe".(That is absurd and make me laughing.) Most of those aids need not to be payback. We do import some of their cigarette. Albania cigaret was everywhere in chinese market at one time. I, actually, saw a few imported Albania films when I was a kid.
After the Mao's culture revolution was over in 1976, we arrested the "gang of four" who advocated the Marxist-Lennist and Stalinst extreme left wing thougts. The Albanian was not happy of what they saw and blamed us betraying the othodox Marxism. We no longer be a brother since then.
