small detail isn't it?

the AMD product life cycle:

(i) play catchup using up all of your resources
(ii) introduce your latest chip while still losing money
(iii) tell everybody how great it is and how they are going to destroy Intel. Tell everyone how things are really different this time.
Make money for a quarter or two.
(iv) watch you product die in the channel as Intel cuts prices and continues to retain customers. Start losing money again
(v) go to step (i)
