I don't think LVLT mgmnt takes an "aw shucks" approach to anything.

More to the point, I don't believe LVLT would have paid many millions to acquire XCOM r&d for the sole purpose of gaining potential influence in the development of IP standards. If that is what was sought, they'd have simply hired away the necessary personnel.

For different reasons, I do agree with you that LVLT's mgmnt is tremendously resourceful and focused on its vision, but perhaps may have made a bet on XCOM that is not panning out in any financially-measurable way. I would not criticize mgmnt for exercising what it thought was good business judgment at the time (in acquiring XCOM) and, frankly, if the XCOM switching technology "won't get it done" I applaud mgmnt or recognizing that fact early on and embracing LU's switch.

My only gripe, if it even rises to that level, is the the company isn't telling shareholders anything about what appears to be a change in direction from the the development of a proprietary softswitch to the wholesale, costly adoption of a third party's technology. Maybe I'm totally wrong about this. I'm only raising questions.
