Hi Suzanne - here's an interesting article on shorting against the box - optionprophet.com

By shorting against the box - "The holder has protected the position against a price decline and the portfolio remains at today's level regardless of what happens to the stock price."

I wonder what effect this would have on the share price - i.e. if the shorting puts downward pressure on the stock - which allows the PP holders to convert at lower prices. It seems like a pretty good deal for the PP holders - lock in your existing position at a certain point but continue to convert at lower prices.

That is also not to say that the PP holders aren't just shorting in the usual way with the expectation of the price falling and then covering the short with shares that they do not own.

Hopefully, the downward spiral will stop with NetTaxi and Signature coming up soon - or if a large investor/company was to take a large equity stake in the company as Paul Henry alluded to earlier in your conversation with him. That would be great !!
