Bashaw said Powertel's e-commerce shoppers will be able to select from a variety of handsets and purchase up to two per online transaction. Normal rate plans - from the basic $20 (100 minutes) plan to the $50 (500 minutes) and more plans that include free long distance - will be available, as well as such enhanced services as multi-party conference calling, fax and data. Powertel is providing online customers with a dedicated e-mail address for correspondence and a toll-free number for additional support.

The www.powertel.com e-commerce site was built by USWeb/CKS - an international leader in strategic Internet and marketing communications sevices - in partnership with Powertel.
